with Him, it’s possible
Reflections on Luke 18:27
“But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.””
— Luke 18:27 (ESV)
The moment I read this verse, it stuck with me. It was the truth I needed and will never forget. The more I sit with it, the more I realize how much it speaks into the way we try to control things, people, and outcomes that are simply beyond us.
We often want things from others they can’t give us. We wish they’d choose differently, act differently, see the world the way we do. But isn’t everyone just trying to do the best they can with what they know? We’re all imperfect, human, and limited while He is not. He’s perfect and makes everything possible.
Have you ever witnessed a miracle—big or small—and thought, How is that even possible? A baby being born. A shooting star. Even speaking, hearing, breathing, and dreaming. These are glimpses of God’s creativity, design, and power.
He does what is beyond human imagination by sacrificing His only Son so we might be saved and live forever in His presence.
He offers us the compassion we so often crave. We can get stuck in the past, replaying what we could’ve done differently, wishing we had been better. And while it’s essential to learn from our mistakes and repent, we’re not meant to stay there.
God invites us forward. He offers us freedom.
And that’s what salvation is: the ability to move forward, to be made new, to walk with Him.
When we try to control, we close ourselves off to what God can do.
Surrendering to Him means loosening up on our pride, selfish pursuits, material attachments, and the need to have every answer. It means placing our trust in His possibilities, not our limitations. With Him, life grows richer, peace replaces striving, and our hearts rest secure in the safety of His kingdom.
My work is about helping people live closer to God’s design by letting go of the things that keep us stuck and stepping into the life He made us for.
What’s holding you back right now?
Where are you still relying on your own strength?
What would it look like to release it and trust God’s way?
I’d love to talk with you.
