Thoughts + Commentary
Podcast is real and relatable girl-chat about health, food, and navigating the overwhelm of wellness. Below I highlight some of the points made in the podcast!
Marketing in the food world is a problem.
Marketing is everywhere, even in the grocery store. Reading the ingredients matters far more than trusting the front of the label. Marketing language doesn’t mean much if we’re not paying attention to what’s actually in our food.
So instead of focusing on calories or flashy claims, look at the ingredient list. Prioritize real food over calorie counting. Try different things and, most importantly, notice how your body feels. That’s the real measure of what’s working.
“everything in moderation”...
My opinion is that neither perfection nor excuses are the right way to go.
Perfection isn’t the goal and chasing it often creates stress that actually works against our health. But constantly falling back on “moderation” to justify every choice can be just as damaging. When we lean too hard on moderation as an excuse, we risk letting convenient habits take the lead instead of making intentional choices that support true vitality.
We need real, steady energy to show up well in the world. If that energy is constantly being drained by food perfectionism or decision fatigue, we’re not thriving. And on the flip side, if we hand over our agency in the name of “balance,” we might be settling for far less than the vibrant, grounded health that’s actually available to us.
There’s a middle ground. And that’s where health coaching comes in. We can work together to find a sustainable balance for you.
Taste and preference do change.
Over time, as we shift our lifestyle away from toxins, processed food, and the excesses of this world, our tastes and preferences begin to change.
I truly believe that many of us don’t even know what we actually like because we’ve become so conditioned (and are addicted) to what’s easily available and constantly marketed to us. But as we return to God’s original design, we start to appreciate all that He created for us.
One of the biggest mindset shifts in healing my own relationship with food was realizing this truth: not everything sold as food is actually food. Some things simply aren’t edible in the way God intended.
What once felt confusing or overwhelming becomes beautifully simple: just eat real food.
“Minimize! Minimize! Minimize!”
There’s so much we don’t actually need.
Experiment with paying attention to how often you say the word need, and reflect on whether you actually need what you’re claiming—or simply want it. That small shift in awareness can be powerful.
Often, the most nourishing thing we can do is just return to the basics: sunlight, movement, real food, deep breaths, and love. It really can be that simple.
This mindset also applies to grocery shopping. Sticking to the perimeter of the store helps minimize distractions and keeps your cart full of real, whole foods. The middle aisles aren’t off-limits—but they do require more discernment. That’s where we need to slow down, read the labels, and navigate the challenges of modern, manufactured foods with wisdom.
And here’s the fun part: cooking! Simplifying your meals can actually be a joy. Cook more, stress less, and spend that extra time with the people you love. Turn it into a family activity or a cozy date night. Cooking doesn’t have to be elite, expensive, or exclusive—in fact, the simpler it is, the more meaningful it becomes.
Adrenal cocktail!
I made my first adrenal cocktail and wow, it was so good! Perfect on a hot day: refreshing, energizing, and delicious.
Recipe I used:
🍊 Orange juice
🥥 Coconut water
✨ A splash of sparkling water
🧊 Ice
⚡ LMNT unflavored electrolytes
Adrenal cocktails are designed to replenish key minerals especially sodium, potassium, and magnesium that your body burns through during stress or exertion. They're a great support when you're feeling fatigued, burned out, or just need a pick-me-up in the afternoon. They support adrenal health, which plays a big role in your hormone balance, energy levels, and even your mood.
These are the kinds of topics I’m personally interested in, follow along with, and truly enjoy learning about! It’s also what I coach and the foundation of my coaching work—helping others simplify health and get back to what’s real and life-giving.
